2012’s New Media Candidate?
TIm Pawlenty's choice to make a Facebook announcment might be a reflection on the type of candidate he wants to be.
“Generally, candidates are trying to say something about themselves with how or where they announce,” said GOP strategist Mike DuHaime, who managed Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 campaign. “People remember [then-Sen. Barack] Obama’s in 2007 because, by choosing President Lincoln essentially as his backdrop, it underscored the historic nature of his campaign and not being tied to anything partisan.”
